There, on the other side, we could see his wife and son waving and crying.

             His youngest daughter had died the previous year.

             I am unashamed to admit that I cried.  I cry to this very day when I reflect and

             as I am telling you this story.

             My lesson that day was that you never know; you just never know. Freedom
             can be snatched away in a moment.  After talking with Charles and gaining a

             better perspective of what the Berlin Wall represented, I decided to re-enlist
             and do my share for the cause of freedom.


             I hope I contributed in some small way.  I feel it was the right thing to do, for
             all the right reasons.
