Page 131 - Stand Down Vietnam
P. 131
I’m sorry I put my family through so much during the
Vietnam days. The fact that I had to go and fight. It
broke my mother; she never was the same. She had
emotional problems because I went to Vietnam and was
injured. My family was against any war; we need to
love and sit down and talk about our differences out
rather than kill each other.
We are still having the same problems today that we had
in Vietnam, except that it’s worse now. We’ll end up
in another war, it won’t be long, probably Korea again.
We are not a militarily strong nation anymore. People
don’t realize that. We are America, but we are not
what we used to be. I don’t think we will ever be that
way again; I think it’s going to get worse.
I’d go back because it’s a responsibility, not because
I’d want to go back.
