I was assigned as the Operations Clerk for MAC 6.

I worked as an operations clerk for three months. My
job was to prepare orders for ten officers going to
different parts of the field.

We lost several officers. Our Lieutenant Colonel(LTC)
Operations Officer left and I was made an acting LTC
and became the Operations Officer. I was in charge of

the airfield for about seven months. I had a
Vietnamese assistant. He seemed to work okay for a
while.

We had C-123 and C-130 aircraft coming into our
airfield.
