               May 19 :  The division sailed for the U.S. and debarked at New York. It was then sent to Camp Funston,
               Kansas, where it was demobilized shortly afterwards.

                                            ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

               Captured from the enemy:

                   •   5,061 prisoners;
                   •   127 pieces of artillery;
                   •   455 machine guns

               The division progressed thirty-six kilometers, facing heavy resistance.  The division advanced thirty-six
               pieces of artillery and 455 machine guns while experiencing:

                   •   1,419 Battle deaths;
                   •   7,394 Wounded;
                   •   1 officer and 24 men taken prisoner

               Division soldiers were awarded the following decorations:

                   •   Congressional Medal of Honor:  8;
                   •   Distinguished Service Crosses:  119;
                   •   Distinguished Service Medals:  2;
                   •   Croix de Guerre:  55;
                   •   Belgian Cross L'Ordre Leopold:  1;
                   •   Belgian Croix de Guerre:  2
