The teenager’s mind drifts off, thinking about the new
Ford Mustang. “Umm, that would be a ride to talk about
for years to come.” It is the most popular car of the
era. He thinks to himself, “Get real; I’m never going
to be able to afford a car like that!”

His young mind is filled with confusion. He needs
clarity. Where could he seek such an understanding?
He persistently asked himself: “How is that we are in a
serious war in a place I know little about?”

The hippies are peacefully protesting in San Francisco

and life seems to be just wonderful for them. Surely,
they watch TV and ask questions too? Are the hippies
just having a party; or do they know something I don’t?
He asks himself: “Will that war be over, or am I
               destined (doomed) to serve?”
