The wheels of justice turn slowly, and lack of medical
care continues to plague many Veterans. This nation
has thousands of Veterans in need of medical assistance
due to service-related trauma relating to PTSD and
“Wounds That Do Not Bleed”.
Unfortunately, we have Vietnam War Veterans that were
denied “Service-Related” status for PTSD symptoms
because they often “stuffed” their problems while
serving because they feared being stigmatized.
Thousands of soldiers accepted less than honorable
discharges to avert disciplinary action that was caused
by PTSD issues needing medical care. These soldiers
needed medical attention; the root cause of their
actions was related to events of their service, not
because they were nonconformists.
The Vietnam War will never be over for these Veterans.
