Some of my proudest moments during my Army career were
when I would be home on leave, “all dressed up” in
uniform for my mother. I had studied and worked hard,
but without her always showing me a never quit
determination about life; I have doubts I would have
succeeded. I was bound and determined to be the best I

               could be.
