I took you the long way around the barn. Bear with me a moment more. I want you to focus on "flashbulb
memory" in the autobiographical memory paragraph above.

               Specifically:

                          • Highly detailed
                          • Exceptionally vivid “snapshot
                          • Of a moment or circumstances
                          • In which surprising and consequential (or emotionally arousing) news was heard
                          • Strong emotions.

Autobiographical memory refers to a memory system consisting of:

                          • Episodes recollected from an individual’s own life
                          • Personal experiences
                          • Specific objects
                          • People
                          • Events experienced at particular times and places, and
                          • Semantic memory (general knowledge and facts about the world).

Now that you have explored “memory” here are my thoughts:

I believe it is possible to “dis-remember” or to block out the most conscious memory of specific events to
a certain degree to survive. Blocking the thought blocks the memory.

However, my unconscious memory is an all-controlling monster that visits me every single night and
multiple times throughout my every day on earth.
