Dr. Tick’s book War and The Soul resonated – it hit home. The definitions
and approach to understanding espoused by Dr. Tick seemed to have been
written exclusively for me.
Then I discovered his other scripts:
SACRED MOUNTAIN: Encounters with The Vietnam Beast
THE PRACTICE OF DREAM HEALING: Bringing Ancient Greek Mysteries
into Modern Medicine
THE GOLDEN TORTOISE: Journeys in Vietnam
WARRIOR’S RETURN: Restoring the Soul After War
The words found within the pages of Dr. Tick’s five books; a compendium of
his words and a single phone call altered my thinking and approach to life; I
am living proof that his methods and approaches are effective.
In my opinion, every Mental Health provider should read, study, and
implement the “Tick” approach to treating warriors suffering from PTSD.
Also in my opinion:
The government and especially the VA need to name it correctly:
POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS INJURY
I was injured; change the definition, treat the injury.
During our phone call with Dr. Tick, he mentioned Rev. Chris Antal; his
service as an Army Chaplain is included in A Soldier’s Anthology.
