Is our Nation doing all it should for those who have
borne the battle? They served in our name.
Our government indicates U.S. involvement with Vietnam
during 1945–1975. You might, and should ask: What
happened in 1945?
• Ho Chi Minh declared independence for Vietnam from
the French.
• American Lieutenant Colonel Peter Dewey was killed
in Vietnam.
