In my opinion, the president should have gone before
the American people to acknowledge we never should have
gone in the first place, we made a mistake, it wasn't
our war, the Vietnamese people wanted to reunite, we
were leaving.
THE HUMAN COST OF WAR
"VA: The Human Cost of War" was produced by
Steeplechase Films and LP Life Productions.
I recommend you view the Public Broadcast Station
documentary of The Human Cost of War.
Our leaders must consider the human cost of war before
pledging our troops to combat. Perhaps having an end
strategy that summarized the cost after the war would
give them pause. Having considered the true cost in
both human and financial obligations, we would not
become entangled in places we have no need to be.
As I look back on the Vietnam Era and all the people I
knew and the books I’ve read, I see the guys coming
home from Iraq and Afghanistan; I’m happy it’s a
different homecoming for them; or is it?
