He sent members of the Office of Strategic Services
(OSS) to Vietnam in 1944 to train and arm Ho Chi Minh’s
Viet Minh to fight against the Japanese in WWII.
Ho Chi Minh augmented the American fight against Japan
during World War II;
He expected a sovereign Vietnamese nation with American
support.
