RESEARCH; READING AND REFERENCE
I have included information in Appendix N for your further reading and reference and as a kick-start, for
you to do your own research.
This information is provided for your independent research. I do not imply support nor endorse any
organization over or above another.
Do your own research. Contact these and other Veteran’s groups then decide where to get help. Ask for
help. You’ve earned it. You deserve it. Be proud of your service and do not be or feel ashamed.
Do not feel you must face it alone. Help is available.
I have included more comprehensive information and links pertaining to the VA Claims application and
processing in Appendix N-1.
I have included what I call the MUST-READ links from the VA’s website in Appendix N-2.
If you are on active duty, it is critical that you study every word from the VA’s website. It is the key to your
disability claim. You will gain insight into what you will face in the process.
NOTE:
It is essential that you prepare a journal of every aspect of your service.
Document the events, dates, locations, and contacts involving your service.
Pay attention to TDY and “Other Duties as Assigned”, especially at the unit level.
Take pictures and send them home. Send copies of your daily journal home.
Remember: The more precise your journal the better your chance of receiving approval. DO NOT rely on
the government to have documented these events for you. There will be “gaps” and “omissions” that will
prove costly to you.
